The Stars from The Platters and the Royalties of Doo Wop
George Caines Ira Greig
is a star from THE Beary Hobb's DRIFTERS, singing and bridging the ' 50s rhytm and blues to the ' 60s Motown music. He epitomizes the vocal sound of that New York City/Detroit era, with his sweet, but street-wise twist of R&B, suffused with gospel influences. Mr. Greig sets fire to a legacy of hits which include "This Magic Moment", "Spanish Harlem", "Stand By Me", "Save the Last Dance for Me", "On Broadway", "Under the Boardwalk", "Up on the Roof", and many more. In 1988 THE DRIFTERS were inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame. Mr. Greig continues to carry the magic.
