The Stars from The Platters and the Royalties of Doo Wop
Barry Gunn Barry Gunn
the star from THE Cornell Gunter's COASTERS, delivers a string of rhytm and blues hits that are liberally salted with humor, and sung in an infectious up-tempo doo-wop style. He strikes it big with songs written by the duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stroller, including such classics as "Charlie Brown", "Yakety Yak", "Along Came Jones", "Love Potion Number Nine" and "Poison Ivy". THE COASTERS, who in 1987 were inducted into the Rock "N" Roll Hall of Fame, carved out a legacy as purveyors of riotously funny and socially incisive rock 'n' roll. Just call him the "Crown" ... I mean "Clown Prince" of Rock 'n' Roll.
